It’s been a while since my last post, but we have ordered our third iteration of our latest creation we have been working on. As PCB lead times tend to be measured in weeks, we do our BOM order review within a couple days. This allows us to utilize the PCB lead time and then assemble PCB’s once all parts are received, the PCB usually last.
Well, while entering parts orders we noticed two components in which the package didn’t match the PCB footprint (SOT-23-X vs SOT-3XX). We did conduct a PCB review, but these two footprints somehow were missed (graphically, they look identical until you examine be lead spacing). Luckily, both components, while not available in those packages, we were able to find an equivalent part number to replace in this iteration.
All in all we are very pleased with the design and hope you will be too once an official announcement is released. Assuming the last change remaining is to correct those two footprints, we’ve done pretty well. Stay tuned a little longer while we do field testing to ensure its ready to hit the market. In the mean time, here is a little preview, and remember to check back in from time to time to see how things are progressing!
